Tom was born in Brooklyn NY, and moved to Long Island when his Father Bob and Grandfather John relocated BFS (“Boiler Feed Systems” at the time) to West Babylon. Tom has been a part of BFS Industries since he was 12 years old. He started working summers sweeping floors, packaging small parts and making simple pump repairs. During his high school summers, he assembled boiler feed systems, fuel oil pumping systems and deaerators. He spent college summers standardizing formats for all BFS assembly and fabrication drawings as well as handling sales engineering and proposal work.
Tom Graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Management in 1987, and joined BFS full time. Tom lead the expansion of BFS’ product line starting in the late 80’s to include tray type and packed column type deaerators as well as larger and more complex packaged systems. BFS relocated to Butner, NC in 1991 and Tom was named Company President in 1995.
When away from BFS, Tom enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking & biking, spending time with family and friends at the beautiful North Carolina coast and travel of all types. Tom also enjoys working out at the gym, and plays racquetball regularly. Tom has been married to his beautiful wife Karen since 1988. They live in Raleigh and are very proud parents to Michael, Krysta & Alexa.
